Foreign Eye in The Storm, Tales of Hurricane Sandy

A Feature Documentary, captured through the eyes of a foreigner, and dedicated to all the victims of the storm. Angelique Papadelias captured Hurricane Sandy from it's onset and continued through the aftermath. She had an overwhelming response to interviewing victims and telling their stories that she created the Feature Film Documentary as a result of the footage she captured of the victims and the storm. A special thanks to all the New York Community that gave their time, shared their stories,

In 1890, Antonio "Sunny" Balzano's family moved from Italy to what is now known as Red Hook, Brooklyn."Sunny's Bar" (and the adjacent original family's home on Conover Street) survived numerous and profound, social, economic and demographic changes during the 79 years of Sunny's life. None of these transitions and challenges however, pales in comparison to the devastation and destruction caused by Hurricane Sandy that left both Sunny and his wife, Tone (pronounced "too-nah") wondering if their iconic and treasured gathering place would ever, could ever, be open again.

Explores the evolving character of Gowanus, Brooklyn and the mysterious New York and Long Island Coignet Stone Company Building that captivates all who pass it. Constructed in 1873, the building at 3rd Avenue and 3rd Street is a historic landmark, but has been mostly abandoned since the 1960s. The Coignet Building got back in the news when Whole Foods broke ground on its first Brooklyn market just a few feet away from the landmark. Through archival materials and interviews with historians, activists, artists, photographers, and local residents, the 20-minute film presents the first comprehensive account of the past, present, and future of the Coignet Building and how a community looks to the future while fighting to preserve the past.

To commemorate Sandy and to raise awareness about the importance of conservation and living sustainably, Dream Circle, a group of musicians and filmmakers, created a music video with photos and video of the storm and relief effort, including a timeline of events and powerful quotes. The artists also highlight the connection between Hurricane Sandy and climate change. They wrote the song “Hurricane” the day after more than of six feet of water surged into their neighborhood in Red Hook, Brooklyn, knocking out power for three weeks.

This video art series is an attempt to broaden the dialog surrounding the beliefs and methods of the group Anonymous; and the intersection of our own personal freedoms, private vs. public information, and the future of Neutrality on the Internet. This video was specifically uploaded and distributed via the internet,in opposition of Google's new Privacy policy,"locationgate",apps stealing data,allowing Corporations to harvest and sell more of your private data. Again, in an effort to raise questions surrounding how, why and to what extent is your personal data is being mined.

Each one has a name of the other and it's up to their guile and ability to outrun or out-think the others. This fast-moving short shows a Brooklyn neighborhood in a whole new light.

Without desire to have the weight of the future of a movement placed on his shoulders Blake must make a decision to be the vocal leader for equality knowing that this same position resulted in the deaths of past leaders such as Martin Luther King and Malcolm X. Will Blake take on the challenge to be The Speaker of the House?
